In a 1930's residential area, installed at the edge of a large urban park, a series of autonomous buildings form a singular ensemble. Between two of the smaller buildings in this group, the building regulations exceptionnaly permit the creation of a new built volume. The project takes advantage of this opportunity to densify the plots and to adapt the typologies to the needs of the new inhabitants.

The project provides an opportunity for a major renovation and multiple interior transformations. However, from the outside, it takes the discreet form of a small autonomous building inserted between the two original blocks. From the inside, it offers a variety of typological responses by extending the existing dwellings or by creating new ones. On the one hand, the three original apartments are each given new surfaces in the extension, on the other hand, a particular apartment is organized on four floors to offer a " co-parental " typology. This new layout is composed of two autonomous apartments, connected by a "children's suite", which can be assigned to one or the other of the apartments according to the needs.

The materiality of the façade seeks to preserve the reading of the initial volumes while offering a clear identity to the extension. Built in wood and clad in glazed terracotta, the new façade blends into the neighborhood by playing with the volumes and reflections of the immediate context.

Inside the dwellings, the specific needs of each apartment are an opportunity to explore a variety of formal and material solutions that weave new composite spatialities between old and new.
