As part of the exhibition "Objets trouvés" at the Cité de l'architecture in Paris, curated by Barrault Pressacco, we were invited to produce a set of two drawings. The first one had to represent a real object while the second one had to envision its transformation into architecture. We chose a model of a Swiss wheelbarrow, type B, which is an object that Martin Steinmann has brilliantly examined in an article in the journal Matières. In his paper he explores issues related to the intelligence of form and reaffirms the necessity for a history of banality. Our drawings represent the wheelbarrow and its transformation into a chapel from a fixed point of view that conjures up the imaginary of a forest conducive to contemplation.
